What we believe

Being run by trained and qualified teachers, we know that it is important to be prepared and know our subject areas well. We know that it is essential to have all the right information to hand and to use it in the right ways so that our students can access the learning. We know our subject matter and the primary curriculum inside out and are experienced professionals with it.

However, we firmly believe that more important than all this information, all this curriculum knowledge, is actually our core beliefs about children, learning and education. These core beliefs are what underpin not only what we teach but how we teach. You will have core beliefs about education too: things that you believe to be important for progress to be made.

So that you can get a feel for how we approach education, the way that we teach and why we teach, here are our core beliefs about education. They may well be similar to yours, and if so then you can be confident that you are getting a tutor who is on the same wavelength as you when it comes to your child’s/student’s education.

We believe that:

  • all pupils are able to learn and enjoy learning
  • education is a gift and should be valued
  • education should be stimulating and fun
  • learning to read, write, spell and think mathematically are all important skills for later life
  • all students can be good learners given the right teacher and learning environment
  • sadly, school does not suit everyone. Some people (through no fault of their own) need a bit of extra help to boost their learning and confidence

These beliefs influence what we do. We are run by excellent, experienced teachers and we are here to help students in their education.

You might be very confident in your learning and want a bit of extra challenge, or you might find some parts of school hard and need someone to work things through with you patiently.

Being a teacher-run tutoring service, we are here to help.
